Triumph’s Outreach Team: Sharing the message of recovery
Say hello to the Triumph Outreach Team! These 36 individuals are passionate about sharing the message that recovery is possible and that nobody should have to struggle alone.
Vikki George is one of the members of this team, and a Substance Use Disorder Counselor at Triumph. She has shared her story of recovery with many, including students at Prosser and Stanton High Schools and also supported events like Triumph’s Overdose Awareness Day. Read more about why Vikki enjoys being on Triumph’s Outreach Team. “I really enjoy being able to go into the schools and share my story because I can relate to being that teenager who thought she had it all together but was struggling emotionally and physically.”
Overdose Awareness Day is another event that she finds special meaning in. “I have lost so many friends to it, and I know that the struggle of getting and staying clean and sober is not easy. So many struggles with keeping secrets or not reaching out and we forget that we not only impact ourselves but that we also impact our families.”
