Putting People First: How Skillsline and Greater Health Now Helped Triumph Treatment Services Strengthen Washington’s Behavioral Health Workforce
Triumph Treatment Services recently completed a workforce development pilot with Greater Health Now (GHN) and Skillsline, placing human skills—like communication, self-management, and collaboration—at the center of professional growth. The initiative reinforces Triumph’s long-standing commitment to its core values: Heart, Excellence, Inclusivity, and Integrity.
This program began in 2024 and will run until September 2025. It reflects Triumph’s core values of Heart, Excellence, Inclusivity, and Integrity. With many job openings in the mental health field, creating a caring and engaging work environment is more important than ever. This project shows how working together can help develop essential skills vital to team success and employee satisfaction.
The program included short learning sessions on topics such as a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, adaptability, and self-awareness. Each lesson was designed to be easy to understand and useful in everyday work. Participants not only learned new things but also took part in discussions that helped them apply these skills in real life.
To assess the program’s effectiveness, participants completed surveys before and after the training to measure their confidence and skill levels. The results were impressive: 98 employees completed over 1,500 lessons, from support staff to leaders. Improvements were observed in areas such as Growth Mindset, Accountability, Emotional Intelligence, Resilience & Well-Being, and Self-Knowledge & Motivation. About 75% of participants found the program valuable, and half felt encouraged by the chance for personal improvement.
Jolene Seda, the CEO of Triumph Treatment Services, expressed her excitement: “Investing in our team’s growth is essential for providing compassionate, high-quality care. This initiative shows our commitment to helping our employees develop their skills, which is crucial for reducing burnout and turnover in a challenging healthcare environment.”
The success of this program is thanks to the teamwork of GHN and Skillsline. GHN is a nonprofit organization that works to create healthy and vibrant communities in Central and Eastern Washington. Their mission is to help those who face challenges in accessing important resources. Skillsline offers helpful tools and assessments to build essential skills needed for jobs in this field.
Looking ahead, Triumph plans to expand this program by creating new employee groups, adding a special track for leaders, and offering more programs for clients. GHN is also exploring ways to apply this across the region to further strengthen the mental health workforce.
In a time when the need for compassionate care is rising, Triumph Treatment Services and its partners demonstrate that investing in people creates a supportive environment where both employees and the communities they serve can thrive.
