Conversations with Community

A series of community conversations designed to bring people together around real issues affecting Yakima. These gatherings create space to learn, ask questions, and hear directly from the people doing the work at Triumph Treatment Services, a Behavioral Health organization based in Yakima that provides a range of services for substance use disorders, mental health, and housing. Triumph staff who support various outreach efforts will share their work and perspectives alongside neighbors with lived experience. Each event focuses on honest, down‑to‑earth discussion that helps break down stigma, clarify how local systems work, and build understanding across the community.

When is the next event?

The first event in this series will be held on May 18 at Rooted Yakima. Healing in Community; Real Life Conditions that Affect our Mental Health will explore mental health, substance use, and the everyday factors—like housing, transportation, income, and support—that shape healing and recovery, inviting the community into open conversation, shared understanding, and connection. This event will feature a member of Triumph’s internship team, Grant Mills, as moderator; as well as Kayla Duffield, Mental Health Associate Counselor; Clay See, ARNP; and Tiffany Hansen, Substance Use Disorder Professional.

How long will it be?

This one‑hour event is designed to be engaging, informative, and welcoming. We’ll begin with a brief welcome and introductions, followed by panelist reflections from people doing the work on the ground. The second half of the event will feature a moderated conversation and audience Q&A, with time to ask questions and share perspectives, and will close with a short reflection to wrap up the evening.

Who is this event for?

Community members; behavioral health students or trainees; service providers; local leaders; individuals with lived experience; and anyone interested in mental wellness, substance use recovery, and integrated support services in Yakima.
